Not able to set threshold alert on calculated field (custom aggregation)

Not able to set alerts on “custom aggregated” calculated field
For example,

Not able to set threshold alerts on ‘Acquisition Rate’ but able to do it on ‘Mailed’ column. Why?

Please suggest me a workaround or anything I am doing incorrectly. Appreciate your time. Thanks in advance!

Hello @devmehta7 Hope this message finds you well!!

In Quick Sight, it is currently not possible to set threshold alerts directly on calculated fields that use custom aggregations. This limitation exists because Quick Sight supports alerts only on simple metrics or standard aggregations, not on complex calculated fields.

I’ve a lot of problems using threshold alerts too! And my conclusion is that in qs, it is currently not possible to set threshold alerts directly on calculated fields that use custom aggregations. This limitation exists maybe because qs supports alerts only on simple metrics or standard aggregations, not on complex calculated fields.

A potential workaround would be to create the calculation directly in your data source or dataset before importing it into qs. This way, the calculated field would be treated as a standard metric allowing you to set threshold alerts.

Please, tell me if it works for you!

Thanks @lary_andr , for sharing your experience. I am skipping alerts implementation for now, as it feels very limited built-in support. And workaround looks lengthy. Thank you again for responding :raising_hands:
