TOP N Filter is not Working Correctly

Hi Team,

I have some observations regarding the TOP N filter functionality.

Case 1: TOP N Filter Control as a Text Box

In this case, I used the TOP N filter as a text box and set the default value of the TOPN parameter to 10. However, it currently accepts all numbers from 0 to 9.

Ideally, if the default value is set to 10, it should only accept values greater than or equal to 10.

Case 2: TOP N Filter as a Slider

For another TOP N filter configured as a slider, I set the minimum value to 5, the maximum value to 15, and the step size to 5. Ideally, it should only accept values within the range of 5 to 15.

However, it currently allows values less than 5 and greater than 15, which is not the intended behavior.

Please test these cases and address these issues as soon as possible, as they negatively impact user experience.

I have added the link below to access the Arena Test Analysis for TOP N Filters. Please take a look.
TOPN Filter Not Working

In Case 1, I entered the value 3, and it accepted it, showing me the TOP 3 Customers, even though I set the default value to 10.

In Case 2, I entered the value 30, and it accepted it and provided results, despite my setting the maximum value to 15. How is it accepting 30?

Please have a look on the screenshots.

Hi @Biswajit_1993,
Thank you for bringing these items to attention. The default value function is setup more to be starting guidelines for your filters and visuals so that everything does not show up blank more so than it is to fully limit the options.

For your first example, could you add a filter to only recognize the top N options, that will limit the additional options from populating.

If you’d like there to only be specific options (like 5, 10 and 15) like in your second example; I think it would make more sense to have a drop down with custom values. That way you can put in the options of 5, 10 or 15 for them to choose between and will not give them the option to utilize a different option.

Additional features for control’s to limit results would be a nice alternative feature so I’ll go ahead and mark this as a feature request.

Thank you
