The new Apps feature in Quick is honestly Amazing. The only shortcoming I’m seeing is being able to integrate Data from RDS (or any other data source) that has been connected in Quick as part of the App. The suggestion is either to build an REST or MCP connection, or export the data into a CSV (that seems counter intuitive for a real-time dashboard app. If there are no plans for this I’d like to change this from Question to Feature request. I believe that would drive Quick Apps to the top of the list for interactive dashboard access. The ability to combine data that is available through connections and company data would be incredible.
Thank you for the feedback!
You’re right that direct, native access to connected data sources (like RDS) from within an App isn’t available today without an intermediary. Currently, Apps support data access through action connectors, Spaces integration, and persistent storage, but there isn’t a built-in path to query your RDS (or similar data sources) directly in real-time from within an App.
We agree that the ability to combine company data from connected sources directly within an App would be a powerful addition for interactive dashboard use cases.
I’m marking this as a feature request to promote visibility with the product team.
