I have a parameter and I want to add this as a filter to control the display of 2 visuals.
However I cannot find where I could add this paramter as a control and also add this control inside the sheet.

So when you create a parameter, this box will popup below and that is where you can add the control to the sheet.
Now for allowing the filter to be controlled by the parameter, when you create a filter, you will select the filter type to be ‘Custom Filter’. After you select that, a box will appear (as seen in the screenshot below) where you can have the ability to use a parameter in the filter. Once you click the box, it will give you the option to select the specific parameter you would like to use.
How the filter can be applied, you can apply it to the whole sheet if your whole sheet is just the two visuals that you would like it to be applied to. Or you can apply the filter to each individual visual if your sheet contains other visuals that you do not want effected by the filter. After you set up your filter(s) then the control you added to your sheet should be fully operational.
