Are join clauses not working currently?

Hey I am trying to use the join clause where one dataset includes a set of employee logins and i want to join it with another dataset with has both the employee logins and the manager logins. the goal is to join them such that the employee logins will be linked to the corresponding manager login. However, I have tried it using many different data sources and it never works, showing an unhelpful error symbol.

I’ve played around with all the options, left link, center link, right link etc. but they all show the unhelpful error.

Are there limitations to this feature on Quick Sight? Does the employee login have to be in teh same column for both datasets or some other criteria?

Thanks for any help

As a temporary solution, I have instead uploaded the same data but as an excel file and the join clause works if its an excel file… but i am still interested in doing it using the data source directly from hoot/data central

Hi @hrryln

Apologies for the delayed response!

Please check that you are not exceeding any row or size limits, especially for joins across data sources or with large datasets.

Verify that column data types and values are an exact match, as errors often result from type mismatches or null values.

If you want to join across different data sources, the result must be a SPICE dataset.

Please refer to the below Quick Suite documentations and community post this might be helpful for you.
