ello, I have connected my data source to QS, and i can see the Values(Date value) under the column in the Data Prep or Preview page, However, when i publish and visualize, it is showing all the values as Null…
Please note that
It is a calculated field, and i usually got to see data earlier but after using parquet format files via athena ( hive) , its causing this issue .
It is a string type and i get proper values in athena and data prep level but not in analysis, it shows 0 value in visual. The filtering and parameters are proper.
One more issue us , if i get the data on analysis , sometimes its the case that data is not populate on the website UI ( embed url )
Requesting some guidance as i’m not able to figure out a solution
Hello @ashishsingla045, my initial thought is that there is potentially an issue with the date format based on the source data. When you configure the format of the date, you can reference the parseDate documentation to make sure the format you are using is one that is accepted by the Athena datasource. You don’t need to worry about the actual parseDate function, it just has the formatting information that I like to share.
Hi @ashishsingla045, I’m following up on your question here and in addition to the guidance above I have a few quick questions to help us better understand the issue:
You mentioned a calculated field, what does it do and is it related to the date column you are having issues with?
Is your dataset using SPICE or Direct Query mode? If SPICE, have you done a full refresh after switching it to a Parquet?
Does the field show up as NULL or 0 in the visual?
Finally, for the embedded URL issue you mentioned, please share more insight. Is this happening consistently or intermittently? And does the embedded user have the same permissions as the user who sees data in Analysis?
These details will help us get to the right answer. Thanks!
