I want to send a report of the sheet called processes to a user: mateoile41.
I set up row level security so that mateoile41 can see only appropriate items, and dynamic default parameters so that the data he is defaulted to only what’s relevant to him.
The image below shows mateoleon41’s view of the dashboard.
It says no data on all visuals caused by RLS; however, he can see the data in the dashboard and the RLS and DDP I set up for him are working based on his view.
When scheduling the report, I tried doing Original dashboard and Custom view, and neither of these worked.
Please let me know if there is anything I am missing here
Let me take a step back, are you sending this as a scheduled report from a dashboard or pixel perfect reporting? What I mean by filtering, is if you added any filters to the data prior to sending that would cause no data to come back in the dataset.
Also, I would make sure that the username/email you used for RLS is exactly the same as the one you used for the email.
Sorry about the late reply, I thought I had responded to this.
I’m curious if its RLS because of the error message. Is there any difference between the emails that you are trying to send the report to and what is being used in your rules dataset?
Still no solution for this. I have tried a few things but I am starting to think that this is a QS bug.
I am both doing RLS through groups and sending the reports to groups. The rules dataset is definitely working. I know this because the user has the limited view of the dashboard I intended but the report just won’t send.
In that case I would recommend creating a support ticket with AWS.
Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf.
