Count the number of options chosen in a filter

Hi all,

How can we calculate the number of options selected in a filter? I want to count the countries chosen from a filter and use that in the formula for a calculated field. (The idea here is to be able to dynamically update the denominator of a calculated field based on chosen filter values of 1 field.) Thanks in advance!

Thanks,
Tanisha

You can use distinct_count({country}). This will take into account only the ones that are present.

Hi Max, thanks for providing a solution for counting the number selected filter values.
I want to restrict selection of filter values if it exceeds more than 10.
Do you think that’s possible within Quicksight ?

USE CASE -
I want to hide a visual if selected Country count from filter list exceeds 10 values.
I know we can use conditional rules but that only accepts parameters and not calculated fields.
