Hello @Cindy !
Do they also not see the dashboard in their console?
They can see the dashboard for sure. When new user request dashboard access, they are not able to get that request email
It sounds like your teammates are set as co-owners of the dashboard but are not receiving the dashboard request emails. Here are a few steps you can take to ensure they have the necessary permissions to receive those notifications:
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But Can you please confirm if quicksight has this feature that co-owner can also get new dashboard request emails. As I came across a ticket from 2023 indicating that QuickSight did not have this functionality at that time. Access Permission Mail - Co-owner
Thanks,

Hi Cindy,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the notification functionality for co-owners of dashboards in Amazon QuickSight.
I appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigated this inquiry. Upon further investigation, it seems that the feature allowing co-owners to receive new dashboard request emails is not currently supported in QuickSight, as you rightly noted from the ticket you found referencing this limitation in 2023. I had mistakenly believed that this option was still available.
As a way forward, I recommend considering the following alternatives:
Create a “System User”: You might establish a system user that serves as the dashboard owner. This user can be set up with a distribution email group to ensure that all requests are routed to multiple recipients, rather than just the primary owner. This could help alleviate any bottlenecks that arise when a single person is out of the office.
Provide Feedback to AWS: I encourage you and your team to send feedback to AWS regarding this functionality. User feedback is crucial for product development, and expressing the need for co-owner notifications could influence future updates.
Hi,
Can you please let me know how to set up a system user?
Thanks,
Cindy
Hey @Cindy !
My assumption is that the person who created the dashboard or account admins are the users who will receive those emails. If you want someone to have the ability to grant access via email I would try making them an admin. That being said, I can understand for security reasons that might not be ideal.
I will mark this as a feature request for the QuickSight team.
