Dashboard image not showing in email report

Hi Everyone, I’m testing QuickSight email reports by sending them to myself. The email comes through fine,but the dashboard image is not showing - I just see a broken image icon.

To see the dashboard, I have to click the View Dashboard button. Is there a way to show a preview image of the dashboard directly in the email?

I’ve attached screenshots showing the issue.

Is this a QuickSight dashboard or pixel perfect paginated report ?
If you schedule a dashboard you have the below option for email.

In anycase, there should be a snapshot as image in your email and when you click, it will take you to QuickSight for the dashboard to open.

I think the issue here may not be QuickSight related but rather your inbox or mail server. since you are testing, could you try with other user possible within quicksight but with different email. for example - gmail ?

Hi @Deep Thanks for the response, I tried both the paginated report and dashboard - in both cases, the snapshot image is broken. When I click to preview image, it says We couldn’t open the image file, like in the screenshot I shared earlier.

Along with the testing i ran the schedule by sending it to another email, but I’m still seeing the same issue- no image preview, just the View Dashboard button.

Thank you for the feedback. what kind of mail server you are using. is it you company mail such as outlook ?

have you tried with both client and web version of your email ? assuming its company’s email.

Do you have the admin permission to invite a user lets say you with your personal email id ( gmail). if so , i would try that as well just to isolate mail server issue.

Lastly, if it does not work then please open a support ticket with AWS support
Support should be able to deep dive and possible solve the issue.

Yes, i tried with both QuickSight and my company email, both not working.

I’m using Outlook, surprisingly snapshot works for other sheets in the same dashboard - but it’s not working for the sheet that I want to capture a snapshot.

May be you have overlooked but can you confirm if " Include sheet in the email body" is checked ?

If not , please check that and retry.
