We have a dataset where we can see the values in the dataset preview screen.
But when the same data is used, without any changes, filters, or calculated fields in the analysis, the column values are all blank.
Seems like a bug in QS?

This seems like an one-off case.
Few test cases that I can think of to debug these would be:
- Are there other integer fields in the dataset? Do they show the same problem?
- Also what kind of aggregation are you using to add this field to the table?
- If the dataset is used in some other analysis does it show same problem?
- What is the value returned in other visual type for the same field, for e.g. KPI visual type with sum(total_units_sold)?
We would need some more information to understand the issue here.

adding to what @prantika_sinha has written. The preview is just retrieving a sample of records. Do you have rows without any data ? . Another method to validate is to pick a unique row from the dataset prep where you could see a value, create a table and filter for the same unique row in analysis.
