Editing the Instance ID of an existing Data Source

Hello,

I recently migrated to Aurora, and need to point my existing Data Sources to the new RDS database. When I go to edit the data source, I do not see the newly created database as an option. does anyone know if it is possible to do this via the web console or is the api required? thanks!

Hi @Vincent_Alfieri

Could you please check connections are authorised from QuickSight to RDS instance . Please follow the below documentation to enable RDS access .

Hi @Vincent_Alfieri - Welcome to AWS QuickSight community and thanks for posting the question. When you edit the existing data source, you can always give updated details and test it. Can you please share a screenshot of the edit data source ( old RDS database) and you should able to edit it.

Hello,
Can confirm this has already been setup. I am attempting to change from one VPC connected RDS server to another in the same VPC. Both DB have the same security group configuration to allow QS access. I can even create a new data source using the new aurora database. Im just not able to see any additional Instance ID options within the “Edit RDS Data Source” form.

Hi @Vincent_Alfieri - The second database is Aurora or RDS ( MYSQL or Postgres). I believe in case of Aurora, you can always update connection details. If you have the first connection is of RDS type, you can not see aurora details. Please check this point.
