I modified the CUDOS dashboard by deleting some sheets and visuals in the analysis and giving an viewer-account viewer-access.
After this I shared the resulting dashboard with the viewer-account and scheduled a report. Report and pdf-attachment are OK but when using the VIEW DASHBOARD Link from the mail or authenticating with the viewer-account to the dashboard I can access the dashboard but “No data. There was no data found for the visual” is displayed.
Interesting that the email and pdf reports are showing results but viewing the dashboard isn’t. Normally when receiving a message like ‘No Data’, it’s because there are filters or parameters limiting the value return in the visuals. Is it possible that you have filters in place that may be limiting the data from being returned? Maybe they were linked to the visuals or sheets that got deleted which is resulting in the ‘No Data’?
When I use my admin credentials to view the dashboard everything is fine, only using the viewer-account results in the “No data” error. Therefore, I assume a problem with missing rights for the viewer-account.
Is there any type of RLS or CLS assigned to the dataset?
If a user does not have permission to view a dashboard, they would not be able to even launch it as opposed to opening it and receiving ‘No Data’. Normally the ‘No Data’ error is received because the visual has no results for the given parameters (filters in use, etc.) or there is RLS or CLS in place that’s limiting the return based on the users’ permissions within the RLS or CLS.
In addition, here’s an old post that covered a similar instance, for you to review:
