Formatting of visual with color fails in occasion

Hi all,

I produce the visual in pic.1 where the legend gets different colors to distinguish. I share this analysis with our customers and I surprisingly see that just for one customer (and their data) the colors of the legend is the same! (pic.2) Does anyone have any idea what can go wrong?

Hi @Fotis_flex,

I do not see Charter on the second visualization, can you try changing the coulour of one “Workflow” that appears on both graphs and see if those show the same?

Yes @andres007 you are right. What I do is create the visual in analysis that I share with customers. When I produce it, the legend colors seem fine (see below) but when I share it with our csutomers it doesn’t…I can only modify this analysis which looks fine

Are you changing the colours directly on the Analysis or on the Theme?

On the theme, I don’t do it manually

What I don’t get is why the user that you are sharing the analysis with is not seeing the same values for the grouping that you are seeing. Is that because of RLS? I would expect anyway that the first colour of the group, even if it is not the same name, will match the first colour of your original analysis.

If you hover over next to the bar to see all values, do you see some value that are first in the order but do not show on the visualization, e.g. Charter? As you can see below, C is too small to show, but still uses the colour that was set in that order in the theme.

@andres007 Yes the values are different due to RLS. Although in the original analysis, the colors vary as values vary, in the customer’s dashboard all legend colors are exactly the same. And the even more weird thing is that this happens only to one customer and not the rest… I just don’t get it, And no the 1st color in the original analysis does not match with the first in this customer’s dashboard. I don’t know what to do here

I tried enabling RLS on my dataset to see if I can find any issue with the colours but as expected, the colours for the available data starts with the correct colours as defined in the theme.

As this is happening to only one user, other thing to try, if you have not already done so, is to remove the sharing with the user and try sharing it again. Not sure if this will help but I am also running out of ideas here

Thanks for your time @andres007 ! I will try this as well and let’s pray!

Hallo, In the end, I deleted the visual and then re-created. After this, for some reason, the problem was solved
