Geospatial Visuals - how to show only specified country/region

How do I edit a geospatial visual so that it only shows a specified country/region. My dataset has data all across the United States and when creating a visual, the entirety of North America is displayed. Is it possible for me to edit the visual so that only the United States is displayed/zoomed in. I believe this is possible in Tableau but not sure about QuickSight.

Hi @adityap and welcome to the QuickSight community!
I’d be curious to see what your visual in discussion looks like, would you be able to share a screenshot? Normally the map visuals focus in on the areas that have data listed, so if there’s data outside of the US it will be zoomed out. You could try to set a filter for US so that it focuses on those points and should zoom in accordingly to match your points.

Thank you!

Hi @Brett, I have attached a screenshot of the map visual. I’ve tried messing around with the filters already but wasn’t able to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi @adityap,
Thanks for sharing! So map visuals will always default to show all information within the fields you’re using. It looks like there is data for Alaska so the map is zoomed out to incorporate that in the default view.
I’m not sure how you have the map linked to other visuals but if it’s unimportant to show Alaska, you could set a filter to exclude Alaska and that should default your map to only show the contiguous states.
