Hey all, I’m very new to QuickSight, and I’m trying to show the totals for the bars in a vertically stacked bar chart, but the totals label checkbox is not there. All the documentation I’ve seen just says “click the checkbox”.
When I turn on Data Labels, I get this:
Is there a setting or something that I need to adjust to be able to see that?

I was about to say that this is a current limitation as this question came up in another community post a couple weeks ago. But then I logged on to test and all of a sudden, a ‘show totals’ box showed up so it sounds like this feature has recently been implemented.
I’m not quite sure why it wouldn’t be showing up in your account but here’s the steps I took to test (and eventually get working).
Weird that it wasn’t showing initially for me but then started showing (and working when turned on):
If it continues to not show up for you, I would try logging out/back in, clearing browser history, or maybe even try opening in a different browser. If none of these options work and it continues to be absent, you may have to create a support ticket to get additional support from the AWS team:

@mjones, additionally, just confirming that you’re not using a 100% stacked chart as those do not provide an option to show the overall totals
Nope, just using a Vertically Stacked Bar Chart.

I’ve given up waiting for the option to appear. We’ve gotten approval to just use a combo chart that’s stacked bar chart with a line chart that shows totals. Thanks for the help.
