I have some charts in my current analysis. When I click any chart, it filters out the other charts and leaves them with no data. There is no common parameter, filter, interaction, or anything. Any two charts can filter each other, regardless of chart type.
Did you face any similar issues? Is there any solution for this automatic filtering?
I tried to create each chart from the scratch and avoided using Duplicate Visual, but still the same problem.
Hi @Rainhard,
A quick tip to start off when creating a post, if you forget to add something to your original post/want to go back and add additional information, make sure to edit your original post instead of adding a reply. When you add a reply to your own topic, it gets removed from the ‘New’ and ‘Unanswered’ lists making it harder to be viewed by other community members.
In regards to your topic if still receiving these outcomes; clicking on a visual should not affect any other visuals if there are no filters or actions attached to them. Could you please share some screenshots of the behavior you’re receiving?
Hi @Brett,
Thanks for raising such a point. Sure, I will do this in the upcoming posts.
I have noticed this in different accounts that are not related to a specific region, data source, or variable.
Here are some screenshots:
Normal analysis without clicking anything
Clicking the first bar of the bar chart
Clicking the KPI will filter the bar chart to nothing (this behaviour applies to other charts as well such as tables, pivot tables, line charts, and many more
I have to click the bar chart again by clicking on one bar twice to get back to the normal view
No actions applied to any of them:
Hi @Rainhard,
Thanks for sharing some screenshots for further explanation! Recently QuickSight released an update on highlighting, so I wonder if it has something to do with that.
Normally when I click on a visual, like a bar in a bar graph, I’ll get a pop up window like the following:
So i tested out the highlighting option, which can be located through the ‘Edit’ → ‘Analysis Settings’ menu option:
When I switched to ‘On selection’, I was receiving similar behavior to what you seem to be getting. So I would suggest testing this out to see if switching the highlight option fixes this issue for your case as well!
