Hi all,
My team is trying to integrate multiple visuals of one dashboard into different locations of my internal react. based application. I have opted sdk based approach for embedding.
Suppose i have 2 visuals, Visual A - Pie chart, Visual B - Horizontal stacked bar chart. On original dashboard chosing specific section in visual A make the other colors in visual A as well as visual B grey, focusing chosen color only. So do i get this feature even when i embed these two visuals in internal application.
So can we have this level of interactivity where visuals talk to each other in the embedded visuals in my application.
Hi @vikrant,
When you embed the visuals separately, there’s currently no ability to have them interact in this demeanor as they serve as separate visualizations once embedded. When making a selection on a visual, QS is adding a temporary filter onto that visual, which would not have an ability to communicate with the other embedded visual to add the same.
I will mark this as a feature request to promote visibility to the support team
Hi Bret,
From what I understand, when visuals are embedded separately, they behave as standalone static elements—retaining only their individual characteristics and losing any interaction with other visuals. Please let me know if I’m misinterpreting this.
Also, is there any timeline you could share for when this feature might be available? We’re in urgent need of this capability.
Hi @vikrant,
Yes, that is correct when it comes to embedding visuals separately.
While Quick Sight does not disclose information on their current roadmap or timeline of potential new features, you can keep an eye on the ‘What’s New’ section of the community for all updates that get implemented.
Hi Bret,
Thanks for the clarification.
Some folks suggested that by leveraging SDK data point callback actions, it might be possible to achieve interactivity between visuals. The idea is to continuously listen for datapoint clicks in one visual and then configure other visuals to reflect those changes.
Is this actually feasible, or am I heading down the wrong path? Answer in context of my need as shared above.
Hi @vikrant,
It may be possible through through setting up listeners, check out the below documentation:
Hi @vikrant,
Following up here as it’s been awhile since last communication took place; did you have any additional questions regarding your initial post?
