Hi team,

I’m looking to implement some dashboard tracking based on usage by users. I’m aware of the blog below mentioned below which should be the right thing, but there is a link to a more updated blog post.

The problem is, when I click on the link I get a 404 error page. Can someone please help me out with the most recent / active link?

I’m hoping to find the most up to date way of monitoring this data, as the orignal blog post dates back to 2022 - and there has been a lot of updates to Quick in the past 12 months - so I hope there is an easier way to get this information.

Yes - this look to be like the link I was after.

QQ - have you used or are you familiar with this implementation? It seems very comprehensive for firms who are using the full stack of features, but also a little overkill for firms who are not. Is there a way to just implement this for QuickSight (i.e. dashboarding only)?

We are mainly using QuickSight at the moment, so I was thinking of just spinning up the sections of this which are relavent for the dashboarding capabilites. That said, this could come in handy if we were to move over to some more of the AI features down the road.

Glad to hear that the link worked for you! As for your new question, I haven’t used/implemented these solutions, but I did go through the blog, and as per my understanding, you can scope this down to just Quick Sight dashboarding.

Of the 19 datasets the solution creates, I think you would have to focus on the ones covering dashboard usage (Admin-Console-CFN-Main-2025), user activity and permissions (Admin-Console-Object-Access-2025, Admin-Console-Group-Membership-2025), dashboard load performance (Admin-Console-Dashboard-Load-2025), CRUD audit trail (Admin-Console-CRUD-2025), and cost (Admin-Console-CUR-2025).

For dashboard tabs, I believe you’d focus on User Activity, Dashboard Usage, Cost and Usage Metrics, Dashboard Performance, CRUD Operations, and Permissions. That said, I haven’t deployed this myself so I’d recommend reviewing the CloudFormation template to confirm which components are optional before spinning it up.
