I created a pivot table with few metrics and their MoM% and YoY% comparison. The MoM values are appearing correctly for all the metrics except the last metric (i.e. gifts pending recipient action) wherein I can see some blank values (e.g. for Oct-2023, Dec-2023, Jan-2024, Feb-2024 etc.).
The calculations for all the MoM fields is same. For example,
Hello @chabbils, I am curious, if you add that specific field without the calculation for Gifts pending Recipient action in a separate pivot table and utilize the Table Calculation on the values being returned for Percent Difference, like you are running in the calculated field, I am curious what values it shows for you.
Also, is there any chance the field you are adding in to the periodOverPeriod calculation is made from a calculated field as well?
Hello @chabbils, since we haven’t heard back from you, I wanted to check in. Are you able to provide some more information about the issue you are facing based on the questions I asked above? That will help me guide you towards a solution for this issue. If we do not hear back from you in 3 days, I will archive this question. Thank you!
Hi @DylanM , thanks for your response. I used Percent Difference Table Calculation and the values are now appearing against MoM% row but how can I get the correct values against YoY% (i.e. periodOverPeriodPercentDifference(sum({Gifts pending Recipient action}), {Reporting Date}, MONTH, 12)) as it’s still appearing blank and I don’t know if I can somehow use Table Calculation to get YoY values?
“Gifts pending Recipient action” is not a calculated field.
Starting next Monday (i.e. 18-Mar-2024) I am on PTO, so will revert (in case I need more info) after coming back. If you can revert before Sunday, I’ll try out your solution for YoY values.
Hello @chabbils, I understand that you are on PTO, so to try and assist you further when you get back I will ask a few follow-up questions that you can include in a new post when you return. Please link this question as well in the new topic to ensure all relevant information is provided.
When you are trying to determine YoY in a pivot table that is being mapped by month, what kind of output are you expecting? Are you wanting to see the percentDifference from that month last year to that month in the current year? Or are you wanting to see something like the YTD values compared to that point in the previous year? Like if you are on march, you want to see Jan-March values in comparison to Jan-March from last year. With a little more information, I may be able to guide you further. I’m just not sure how YoY% would be aggregated month by month.
I’ll archive this question for now, let me know how I can help when you return. Thank you and enjoy your vacation!
