Do you think there could be another way? I wouldn’t want to restrict the data to users, since they should still be able to see everything in the dashboard—it’s only for the scheduled email reports that I’d like different filters to apply.
The users will have access to the entire dataset only when they open the dashboard for the first time; initially, they will see only their specific region. Maybe that can help you.
Following up here as it’s been awhile since last activity took place on this thread; did you have any additional questions regarding your initial post?
If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.
The answers above were helpful — using default parameters works for sending reports with different values, and I can see how that solves part of the problem. However, I still have one open issue:
I’d like to combine both behaviors. Specifically:
Some parameters should follow the default values (e.g., Country = FR/UK for each group).
At the same time, I’d like to keep the ability to open the dashboard, make ad-hoc filter/expansion selections (like which weeks to expand, or other filters), and then have those reflected when the scheduled email is generated.
Currently, the scheduling options are:
Original dashboard → uses only the default parameters (ignores ad-hoc changes).
Custom view → captures my ad-hoc changes, but it disregards the default parameters.
Is there any way to “mix” these two modes? Meaning: some filters come from the default parameters, and others from the current custom view, so that both are respected in the scheduled emails?
The best suggestion regarding interactivity when sending reports would be through the pixel-perfect reporting feature that can be added on.
These provide additional features revolved around filtering with controls.
Below is some additional documentation as well as a video that explores this feature a bit more in depth for your review.
Hi @leabt,
So you build the reports by adding a page to your analysis and then you can copy visuals over to the report. So technically you do have the ability to view the visuals from your dashboard/analysis if you’d like.
