Period Over Period narrative customizations

Continuing the discussion from Different KPI formats:

I’m using a period over period insight in place of a KPI in order to rework the format. When using the period over period insight function - this only creates a meaningful visual when there are two consecutive periods to compare.

When the periods to compare have a gap in between e.g. 30th Nov: 1.92M, 2nd Dec: 3.13M, the period over period insight fails as below:

KPIs don’t seem to struggle with this functionality:

Here is my narrative I used to make the insight mimic the KPI format:

Can someone suggest a way to rework the narrative to allow for the above issue?

Also a separate issue - is there a way in the customize narrative section to customize the format of the percentage change (+PeriodOverPeriod.percentDifference.formattedAbsoluteValue) to remove decimal places?

Hey @GeorgeQS !

To do this you might find better success creating your own calculated field rather than relying on the period over period option in the insight visual.

So you could create the calculated field, and then add it to your insight as “Total Aggregation”.
