Initially my dashboard has one data set and filters were working as expected.
Now, I updated dashboard to use 2 different datasets, So, for the filters to be applied, I am using parameters so that both datasets have the same filters .
Data looked good in my analysis , when I published it , some users are having weird experiences where the filters are not working , data doesn’t change at all or the view is stuck on some random data.
I tried the reset option on the top left corner and it worked for me but I cannot keep track of when the filters stop working in future for different users .
Is there a work around for this ?
Hi @samp,
We may need a bit more information to assist further as this could be due to a number of things, but to start off, some things to double check:
Do the field’s (and values) in each dataset match exactly? As many aspects of Quick are case sensitive, the values need to be written out exactly the same to act as a filter.
Have you confirmed that all visuals have the same filters applied?
If possible, it would be great if you could share an example of what happened, the parameter(s) in use and the filters applied and the results that were received. Then it should be a little more clear on what caused the issue.
Yes, they match exactly . Both datasets are same with some minor logic differences .
The filters work completely fine in Analysis, I tested and compared the data as well, but once published the filters do not work unless the reset option is top right is used.
And the weird thing is , the filters were working for me and my colleague but not for another business user. It started working for her once the dashboard was reset.
I will try to share the images.
That’s really interesting; I agree that this seems odd that it’s working for some users but not others. I would suggest creating a support ticket as well to report this behavior in case it happens to be a bug:
Hope everything is well with you! Just checking back in since this thread hasn’t received a response in a while. If you did submit a support ticket, feel free to help the community by letting us know any findings that came out of it! Moreover, please follow up in the next 3 business days or I will make this inquiry as complete.
Since I haven’t received any further updates from you, I’ll treat this inquiry as complete at this time. Please feel free to create a new post if you have more questions.
