Reader/Reader Pro Conversion within Quick Suite

Looking at the pricing for Quick Suite - Agentic AI-powered workspace – Amazon Quick Suite cost – AWS - it seems that Business Users aka Reader will now be Professional Users - and Advanced Users aka Reader Pro will now be Enterprise Users. Also on the new pricing page there isn’t any mention of Admins or Authors - are they not roles in the new world. Looking at my console, the users roles haven’t changed yet. Is there any mention when the update will be made? Lot there but i assume this will be common question for folks as Readers at $3/month to Professional at $20 is signficant.

Old Readers at $3/user/month remains as is but they have capability only to QuickSight BI tool within Quick Suite.

Old ReaderPro which is $20 per user/month

In Quick Suite regions: Get all capabilities included in Quick Suite Professional at no additional cost - transforming your analytics capabilities with enterprise-grade AI tools, advanced research and collaboration features.

In other regions: Quick Sight Reader Pro includes all Reader capabilities plus AI-powered enhancements:

  • View executive dashboard summaries with AI-generated key insights and trends

  • Build and share generative data stories that automatically highlight important patterns

  • Perform advanced analysis with scenarios capability - explore “what-if” situations with ease

OLD Author/Admin - which is $24 /user/Month -

  • Create and share compelling dashboards and reports
  • Connect seamlessly to any supported data source
  • Ask questions in natural language using our advanced Q&A capability for instant insights from your structured data

**Limited-time promotion: In regions where new Quick Suite capabilities are available, Quick Sight Authors get promotional access to all capabilities of Quick Suite Enterprise till April 30, 2026.

AuthorPro/Admin Pro - which is already $40/user/month

Thank you for your response. So there will be no “automatic” changes of the readers to the new subscription and for those users that want the new functionality we need to change their role to Professional as an example. Do we know when that will be….doesn’t seem to be their currently.

Hello ChrisZ,

The user QuickSight Role from Reader to ReaderPro should be done by customer or Admin of the Account. There wont be Automatic role upgrade.

In addition to what i mentioned earlier converting user role to PRO or creating topics or using any Agentic/ GenAI capability will trigger Amazon Q to be active and $250 / month/account will be charged.
