Scheduled dataset refresh fails frequently

We are receiving errors for the scheduled refresh frequently with no specific reason:
Error Details
Error type: SQL_EXCEPTION
Error details: ERROR: Query cancelled.

and when trying manual refresh, it happens sometimes with the following msg:

Import failed:
This is a general SQL error. This can be caused by query timeouts, resource constraints, unexpected DDL alterations before or during a query, and other database errors. Check your database settings and your query, and try again.
