I have a sales dataset with a lot of dataset parameters (multiple values) that I use in my analysis as controls - I know that Quicksight doesn’t support the “Select All” option when dataset parameters are involved, but I was wondering if there was a way for the values to be “unselected” as default, instead of “selected”… because if I want to filter only one value, I have to “unselect” a lot of values, instead of just “selecting” the one a want >>
For instance… all the controls are connected (showing only relevant values)… if I filter the category as “beer” and I want to filter only “BECKS LONG NECK 330ML” I have to unselect all other options, wich is more than 100 values…
I wish for the values to come all unselected… wich is the default behavior for when the filter has more than 1000 distinct values >> see the different behavior for the same filter with same configuration but when I dont filter the category previously >> is there a way for this behaviour be the default? and always come unselected values?
I’ve tried to do that, but all of my other controls are not working as expected anymore - all of my controls are connected to each other through “Show only relevant values”, so now that the Product Name is showing “blank by default” the other controls have no relevant value for blank and are not showing any values…
The “Show blank as default” worked but only if I disconnect the Product controls from others, and I need that connection through all the controls… I need for the other controls to still show All values when the Product control is blank… is there a way to do that?
@vanessabp
I don’t think there’s a way to do that.
Maybe I’m not understanding your requirement correctly but if nothing is selected in the Product control, doesn’t it mean that all your visuals will show no data? If your visuals don’t show any data, does it matter if your other controls can’t show the relevant values?
Maybe understand your concern,
You can Publish your dashboard with uncheck all the Product.
Wheneve you open your Dashboard, It will show the exact same like the state where you keep the analysis.
Please try it.
