I would like to create a Filled Map of Singapore by “County” and “City”.
In QuickSight guide, County = Constituencies and City = Wards.
May I know where does Quicksight get these information? Specifically, what are the keywords that I need to use to fill both data columns?
I tried to key in the constituencies I know but the filled map does not completely populate which is frustrating. I do not wish to trial and error till I fill my whole map.
Hope everything is well! I would recommend finding a .geojson file for Singapore and then loading that onto a layered map. This should help you avoid doing too much trial and error work to fill the map. However, even if there are discrepancies with the file you uploaded, you can manually add points on the map based on latitude and longitude. Let me know if this helps!
If I have a geojson file, and I loaded it onto a layered map, can I have another layer where I can show “points on maps” of petrol station, with the layered city (aka wards) all in the same map?
I just checked the layered map properties and it currently only supports 1 layer per visual. However, to workaround this, you can make 2 different layer map visuals with the same Singapore .geojson and put them on top of each other (you need to make your analysis free-form to do this). From there, separate the functionalities you want into both of those visuals, and then add an action to hide visual based on a defined parameter (i.e. hide visual if parameter = “petrol”). Just to note, the visual switch will only be intuitive when viewing as a dashboard, as in the analysis it will display a message that the visual is hidden instead of showing the other visual.
