When creating a Space for a team, but want to connect to slack to access conversations and documents, how can we do this without using a specific individuals authentication.
Hi @owendb ,
From how I understand integrations for Quick, they can only be activated through specific individual’s authentication. That being said, you can initiate the integration and then you can share your integration access with your team. That can be a potentially workaround, but I have not done this with slack. I have however done this with the outlook integration, and my team seems to be using the outlook integration just fine.
Thanks Jacob,
Yes, i can get it working with my individual authentication, but im worried about it using an individuals authentication as it will be able to search all DMs. Not that I have anything to hide, but it could prove problematic. Ideally, it needs to be a system authentication or limited to specific channels.
Its good you can do this in spaces, but to have a team space I think there needs to be a systems level access to most of the platforms.
Hi @owendb ,
From what I understand, Quick integrations need individual authentication to get set up (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/quicksuite/latest/userguide/quick-action-auth.html). The integration needs actual user credentials to connect to services like Slack. Once you authenticate it though, you can share access with your team in the Space.
About your privacy concern, like I said I have personally done an outlook integration and shared that access with a few members of my team. From what I can tell so far, when other people use the shared integration, they only see their own Outlook stuff, not mine. For example, I have an outlook action attached to an agent and one of the very first things the agent responds with is a message prompting any user that isn’t me to sign into their Microsoft account which helps ensure they are accessing their content. My guess is that Slack could work the same way.
I haven’t tried it with Slack specifically yet though, so maybe test it out with a couple teammates first to make sure it behaves like we think. Additionally, if that does not work, I can attach the ‘feature-request’ tag to this post to help increase visibility to the Quick team on a potential feature they can maybe look into adding.
Hi @owendb,
Just checking back in since we haven’t heard from you in a bit. I wanted to see if the guidance shared earlier helped resolve your question, or if you found a solution in the meantime.
