Storytelling can’t save visuals created in Topic Q / pinned to pinboard or Dashboard

Hi everyone,

I’m building a Storytelling presentation in Quick Sight.
Above adding the existed visuals from Dashboard I also I used Topic Q to generate several visuals and pinned them to a pinboard.
When I open Storytelling and into storytelling prompt content and added visuals form the pinboard and dashboard then click build the story , I can see the visuals after I paste my prompt and start building the slides.

However, when I click Review, the visuals disappear and I get a message:

“Error saving snapshot visuals , TRY AGAIN”

-in dashboard or topic Q, no RSL applied yet.

It seems that Storytelling can’t save or persist the visuals that came directly from Topic Q / pinboard.

Has anyone else run into this?
How do you usually include Q-generated (ad-hoc) visuals in a Storytelling flow?
Do you always have to add them to an analysis or dashboard first before Storytelling can keep them?

Any tips or best practices would be appreciated!

Hi @weilingp,

Thank you for letting us know. I quickly tried to reproduce the issue based on your description, but in my case everything behaves as expected and the visuals are loading and being saved correctly within the generated data story.

I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
