Temporarily Disabling Quick Sight and Q Subscription Without Losing Dashboards or Topics

I currently have an Amazon Quick Sight Standard/Enterprise subscription along with Quick Sight Q enabled for my account. I’ve been using them for about a year and have existing dashboards, datasets, and Q Topics that I want to preserve.

Since I won’t be using these services for the next few months, I’d like to know if it’s possible to temporarily disable or pause the Quick Sight and Q subscriptions so that I don’t get billed during the inactive period, but can later reactivate them without losing my existing configurations, data, and topics.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Whether Quick Sight or Q subscriptions can be suspended temporarily without deletion.

  2. If not, what would be the best approach to retain my dashboards, datasets, and Q Topics while minimizing charges?

Thank you,
Ajay

Hi @AjayV

Quick Sight and Quick Sight Q do not currently provide an option topause or temporarily suspend your subscription while preserving all dashboards, datasets, and Q Topics for later use.

If you want to stop billing, the only supported process is to delete (terminate/closing) your Quick Sight account, which irreversibly deletes all your Quick Sight assets.

Please refer to the below documentation this might be helpful for you.

hi Ajay! So #1 was answered, no there is no temporary suspension. For #2, how do you retain: I’d consider exporting your assets to files. You could then delete your Quick Sight instance. Later create a new Quick Sight subscription, then import your objects. Have a look at asset bundle operations to see how the export works.
