Hello QuickSight Community,
I hope someone can help me with a billing and configuration issue I’m experiencing with my QuickSight account.
Current Situation: I’m being charged $300 monthly for my QuickSight usage, and I’ve identified that $250 of this is due to the Amazon Q enablement fee. I have a QuickSight dashboard called “FireBeats DashBoard” that analyzes policyholders data and contains 5 analysis sheets with 58 interactive visuals.
What I’ve Done So Far:
-
Removed my Pro license to eliminate that cost component
-
Confirmed that Q&A is already disabled on my dashboard (isQnaEnabled: false)
-
Identified that having this topic in my account is still triggering the $250/month Amazon Q enablement fee
What I Need Help With: I want to continue using my QuickSight dashboard with all its current policyholders analysis functionality (interactive visuals, filtering, data analysis capabilities), but I need to completely disable/remove Amazon Q features to eliminate the $250/month charge. I may want to re-enable Q features in the future, but for now, I need to stop this cost.
Specific Questions:
-
Is there a way to disable Amazon Q capabilities at the account level without deleting my existing dashboard?
-
Can I convert my current dashboard to a standard QuickSight dashboard that doesn’t trigger the Amazon Q enablement fee?
-
If I must delete the current topic, is there a way to recreate the same Q topic again and reuse it?
-
Are there any account-level settings I should check to ensure no other Amazon Q features are inadvertently enabled?
Technical Details:
-
Account has 1 dashboard: “FireBeats DashBoard”
-
Q&A is disabled on the dashboard
-
No Pro users currently active (turned off the Pro license)
I really value the analytical capabilities of my current policyholders dashboard but need to eliminate the Amazon Q-related costs temporarily. Any guidance on how to maintain my dashboard functionality while removing Amazon Q features would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!
