I have been getting charged for Q in my QuickSight bill, can you explain the source of this?
There are various reasons that could have enabled Q fee for your account. To stop Q charges in QuickSight, you must delete or downgrade all your Pro users to regular users, ensure that there are no topics in any QuickSight region, remove all pro-group membership and make sure the account does not have dashboard Q&A enabled for any dashboards. If it is hard to find all dashboards which could have dashboard Q&A you can disable the account level setting mentioned in the doc above. If your account was subscribed before 04/30/2024 to QuickSight Q then you might be getting charged for a Q Add on fee, this fee will be removed from your account automatically starting 04/30/2025 when QuickSight will move to new pricing model for all customers. Once all the above steps are done you will stop getting charged for Q from next month.
Note: that if you are referring to Q Index fee then Q index is not a QuickSight charge, and is instead charged by Plato, Contact AWS customer support.

Check if you have any βProβ account (ReaderPro, AuthorPro, AdminPro) from the Manage Users page as the moment a Pro account is created QuickSight charges you Amazon Q enablement fee which is to provide your Gen AI capabilities.
Removing the Pro accounts will disable Amazon Q functionality.
