Titles based on parameters have stopped working

We pass parameters to define custom labels. e.g. “<<$GroupTitle1>>”
These have suddenly stopped working.

Has something changed?

Hello @eweb, where are the parameters built initially? Are they set on the dataset or within the analysis?

Something that could cause parameters to stop working in the dataset is if they are used in custom SQL and you change the dataset from direct query to SPICE. They can only be utilized there if the dataset is ingested with Direct Query.

Otherwise, you may experience issues if you remove the static default value from the parameter, if the parameter name changed, or if it was altered into a multi value parameter. With a little more detail about the issue you are facing, I can guide you further. Thank you!

We append the parameters on the end of the returned embedded url. All has been working fine for months but yesterday we got complaints that the labels weren’t showing correctly. We haven’t had a production deploy of QuickSight assets nor of the calling service since early April.

Thank you for letting us know. I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
