Unable to add calculated field after applying RLS security

Dear Member,

After Appling RLS in data set , whenever I’m trying to add a calculated field and then click on publish and visualize a message pop up -

Can’t perform this action

An unknown error has occurred.

Please help on this.

Thanks for bringing this up here.

A couple questions to see if we can figure out why you are getting that error.

  • Do you get any additional error details or a “request_id”, if you do, can you post that here?
  • What type of data source are you using?
  • Are you using SPICE or Direct Query?

I’m getting only this error msg.

  • What type of data source are you using? - (I’m importing data from Athena)

Thank you for letting us know. I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
