Unable to change the colour please take a look,
as i have ceared the cached as well, but no resolution
Hi @Vaibhav.narwade,
Could you provide some additional information about whatâs taking place as itâs a bit hard to tell from the picture; what are you trying to assign a color to? Is the problem with an incorrect color based on the hex code youâre providing? Is it not saving the color once you enter it and hit âapplyâ?
Additionally, is there an overall theme thatâs applied that may be taking precedent over you attempting to adjust/change?
Hi @Brett
According to the image you shared, I can no longer enter the manual HEX color code. Previously, I was able to set the HEX color code manually, but I am now unable to do so.
Hi @Vaibhav.narwade,
If unable to assign a hex code, this would be a bug with the UI.
Going along with the other topic you posted, these seem to be similar issues around the UI not functioning correctly which leads me to believe itâs a bug. You could also try using a different browser, clearing your history and cache and seeing if that helps the scenario.
If not, then Iâm afraid you may need to go the support ticket route:
Hello @Brett,
Although I have tried all the methods, cleared the cookies and cache, and changed the browser, the issue still persists. Please raise a support ticket for this, as I am unable to do so.
Hi @Vaibhav.narwade,
As this is happening within your account, you would need to be the one to raise this issue through a support claim; I would not be able to raise one on your behalf. I will try my best to relay this message along to the proper team as well.
Hi @Brett ,
- Selected the visual,
- Need to change the colour
- Unable to do so this is the kind of the bug, please fix this asap
Unable to add the âCustom colorâ
As we are at the project delivery stage, this is an intolerable bug that could cause the project deadline to be missed.
Hi @Vaibhav.narwade,
I tested this out with a number of visual types and the only option I encountered this error was when trying to assign coloring on a small multiples layout. Is that what you are using in this case?
If so, you can assign the colors through the format visual menu as well, which I tested and was working:
Expand the âData Seriesâ section and choose the field youâd like to edit by clicking on âselect series to styleâ.
Good morning @Brett ,
Thank you for your response.
I followed the same process, but it doesnât work. Please take a look.
I used a vertical bar graph with two bars, as you can clearly see in the snapshot. I then selected the properties and chose the data series. Under the data series, I selected the style for the series, where I tried to fill the different bars with custom colors using hex or RGB codes, but it doesnât allow me to do that.
Hi @Vaibhav.narwade,
Thank you for the additional information; tested out various scenarios with bar graphs and it looks like the issue is narrowed down specifically to when youâre trying to change the hex code when the aggregation assigned is âCustomâ. Any other type of aggregation allows you to edit through the format visual options.
Iâll report this specific issue; now that itâs narrowed down, hopefully this will be easier to fix.
In the interim, why donât you make another visual with a designated aggregation, that way you can assign that color. Then it will show up in your âRecent Custom Colorsâ down below the hex section and you can just pick that.
Iâll let you know when I receive notice back from support.
Updating my previous statement; it doesnât look to be linked to the custom aggregation, it looks like itâs anytime you have two fields in the value section of the visual.
Hello @Brett ,
As per the business requirement,
this is the only suitable visual for representation, so please assist accordingly.
Hi @Vaibhav.narwade, the visual doesnât need to stay in the analysis; you can delete it afterwards. Or just remove the second value field from your visual, set the color then add the second value back in.
Itâs been a while since we last heard from you. If you have any further questions, please let us know how we can assist you.
If we donât hear back within the next 3 business days, weâll proceed with close/archive this topic.
Thank you!
Hi @Brett,
As you mentioned, we can achieve this, but it is time-consuming. Previously, we were able to do it more efficiently. Please take this into consideration for your observations.
I have also noted that this kind of bug is present in multiple visuals. Currently, we are unable to change the HEX color manually. Instead, we have to use your method or change the theme, both of which are less productive approaches. Please look into this, as it is impacting our productivity.
Thank you.
Also observed that the feature
âApply Conditional Formatting to Entire Rowâ
for table view is not available in the new QuickSight 2026. Please look into this as well.
Hi @Vaibhav.narwade,
The hex code issue has been corrected; you should now have the ability to edit your hex code from the custom box.
Conditional formatting is only available for columns; if youâd like to submit a feature request for added customization for conditional formatting, please create a new post in the community so that itâs separate from this thread.
