Unexpected behavior in QuickSight Pivot Table with Conditional Formatting Icons

Quicksight’s pivot table with conditional formatting icons. Upon selecting a row and deselecting, all the conditional icons on the table remains grayed out. Only the previously selected row stays highlighted, while all others appear faded. This is a simple pivot table.

Expectation is that the table should return to its normal state after deselection. Currently, users must refresh the dashboard each time to properly view the trend arrows.

Hi @john.bridge good to see you back in the community!

I believe this is a rendering bug. I tested a similar scenario in my account and was able to see similar behavior with conditional formatting icons in pivot tables after row interaction.

However, I also attempted the same thing on a Table Visual, instead of a Pivot Table, and did not encounter the same bug. I would recommend this a potential work around.

Hope this helps and feel free to keep us updated!

@WLS-Cesar Thanks for your reply, while my original example referenced a simple pivot, I have some more complex structures that rely on pivots and those are where the issue is more noticeable.

I see your suggestion to use a non-pivot table has been marked as a solution? I trust than this rendering issue has been logged and reported as a bug? In the meantime, I’ll continue supporting the users and look forward to a fix.

Hi @john.bridge,

Thanks for the quick reply. Since this happening in both of our environments, I would definitely recommend opening up a support ticket. Here is the documentation to open one: Case management - AWS Support. I have gone ahead and marked this an an error to promote visibility to the product team.
