Now that AWS has released Prompted Reports, I’d like to know if anyone found a way to have more than 5 schedules per dashboard + be able to update copies of dashboards.
I wanted to be able to schedule send a custom view of a dashboard sheet to respective teams (filtered by their custom resource owner tag). This means the team (user) receiving the email will only see how much the resources their team owns - costs (as per the tag filter). They’ll have a link to the dashboard too for further exploring. But as we have many teams, having a limit of 5 schedules was not sufficient. I decided to create a copy of CUDOS just for this purpose but then there is no documented way of keeping these copies of dashboards updated. Even with the dashboardId, you cannot update a copy dashboard using cid-cmd tool.
I have raised a case with AWS but would like to know if anyone has found a way around this.
Hi @ishyherts,
Currently the limitation is set at 5 and there is no great work around. There have been multiple other requests from the community for the ability to have more than 5, so I can mark this as a feature request to promote visibility to the AWS support team.
@Brett I am not sure, but do you think this can be done leveraging RLS?
Since the requirement is to filter data and share across, considering RLS works for scheduling reports, this can fit in.
