Why is Create Hierarchy disabled?

I have a data set based on a database. When I try to add a column to a hierarchy in the data set, the “Add to a hierachy” link is disabled. Anybody know why?

It’s a string field.

at the data prep layer, before you publish and visualise data, the “Add to Hierarchy” is usually for GeoSpatial data.

You can create different hierarchies (drill-downs and drill-ups) in the visuals if you need to. Here is how-to: Adding drill-downs to visual data in Amazon QuickSight - Amazon QuickSight

Thanks. I’m new to QS and didn’t release that hierarchies in the data set are only for geospatial.
