Debugging "Unable to load prepared data source" error

A dashboard that has been working reliably has abruptly stopped working:

  • Under the datasets for this dashboard dialog, all the datasets are shown as “Unable to load prepared data source”
  • For the charts, it simply says “cannot access data for this visual”

Is there a log or other mechanism in QuickSight that can show further details on the error? Thanks!

Hi,

  1. check your dataset rows ingestion history.
  2. check if any column delete from your datasource.
  3. check the credentials in QuickSight and verify you db user if you are using.
  4. verify you file path if you using.
  5. complete refresh your dataset and see if any issue.

Here are the steps to open a support case (Creating support cases and case management - AWS Support). If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
