I want to keep the control selection i.e start data and end date is for last 6 months. Everytime, when any user open the report, it should show last 6 month of the data . if user wants to extend, they have to use it from the controls.

If you use the relative date control today, you can set it to last 6 months and publish the dashboard. Your readers will see the dashboard filtered to last 6 months and they can update the range or relativity.
