I have activated Quicksight Q service from my admin account. I share a lot of assets from the admin account with other IAM users but I want to choose who can have Q and who not. How can I achieve this?

Each Quicksight Q Topic, similar to each Dashboard, can be shared with specific users.
From the Topic page, select the Share button, in the upper right,
.
In the Share dialog that opens, select the Manage Topic Access button at the bottom,
And from that dialog, you can add or remove users,

Hi @wstevens01 . Ok sure, each topic can be shared with users. However, I want to test Q from my admin account before providing our customers the ability to create their own topics. Isn’t there a way to disable Q for them and keep it only for admin?

Yes. The trick here is create the Topic separate from a analysis so that it doesn’t get published as part of the Dashboard (see here). Users should only see the Q bar if you share the Topic.
Another approach is to use a separate account as described here. Separate accounts are an AWS best practices for a number of reasons and, in this case, would isolate your experiments to your lower environments/accounts.
