We have an external consultant in Europe that we are trying to invite to quicksight, however every invitation we send him results in a “Its Not You Its Us” error page. I’ve had him test his NTP time settings (as this appears as a common authentication problem) and everything looks good, was .00004.
The invitations work for me anytime I send it to a personal email of mine, and I’m at a loss for what else to try.
Hey @mjproperty, there are a few things we can do to try and debug this issue.
There may be an issue with the consultant’s email breaking the link or token when clicking directly from the email. See if he can try copy and pasting the link into the browser instead to try and resolve the issue. Also, what browser is he using? I’d recommend testing in Chrome since that seems to be the most performant with Quick.
They can also try using the link in an incognito window. If they have a tab or window open on their computer with an AWS account actively logged in, that would cause problems when accessing Quick.
Could you also check CloudTrail for CreateUser events that may have failed? Maybe there is some information in the logs we can use to debug this.
The only other thing I can think of is some kind of duplicate user or region issues. Make sure they don’t have an account created in a different region with the same email, that could also cause errors when inviting them to a new account.
Just checking back in since we haven’t heard from you in a bit. I wanted to see if the guidance shared earlier helped resolve your question, or if you found a solution in the meantime.
If you still have any additional questions related to your initial post, feel free to share them. Otherwise, any update you’re able to provide within the next 3 business days would be helpful for the community.
