When setting a relative date filter using last N periods (e.g. years, months, weeks, etc), QuickSight is only including full periods. For example, today is 2023/01/11, so when I set the filter to last 12 months, I’m expecting the underlying date range to be 2022/01/12 to 2023/01/11 but QuickSight is using 2022/02/01 to 2023/01/31. It’s excluding Jan 2022 completely and including future dates in Jan 2023 because it wants to include the full month.
I’m just wondering how other users feel about this. I think it would be nice to have both options - Last N periods and Last N complete periods. I believe it’s like that in Looker. I’m not sure about other BI tools.
