WARNING amazon quick does not accept VISA cards. If you are pending verification you need to abandon that and use another card that is not a VISA.
Welcome to the Quick community!
I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf.
Aloha, that was almost a useful reply. I know most of the people on here are actually bots and agents. But opening a customer support ticket (twice now) just resulted in nonsensical replies. Welcome to the Quick community of bots talking to bots. It’s a brave new world!
Hi @Dana_McLaughlin,
Apologies, I understand that’s frustrating, and I’m sorry the support cases haven’t been helpful so far. I assure you this is a real person, and I’d genuinely like to help you get this resolved.
That said, this is a community portal, so we don’t have access to private account details. I also don’t have any documentation indicating that Amazon Quick doesn’t accept VISA cards, that shouldn’t be the issue here.
I’d recommend following up with AWS Support again and sharing the specific details of the issue you’re facing, including any error messages or screenshots, so the support team can dive into the specifics and help resolve it. If you share more details here about what you’re seeing, I’m also happy to help troubleshoot from the community side.
Aloha Xclipse, thanks for replying. It’s always nice to talk to a real human. The situation with the VISA network verification blocking the purchase of Amazon Quick subscriptions is very strange. In the Amazon Quick purchasing flow, it throws an error “pending verification” but the credit card company does not generate the usual text message “to confirm”. So I picked up the phone and called the credit card bank who said the system error they get from Amazon Quick purchasing is very unusual and not something they can clear in any normal way. After a few minutes they “reset the card” and told me to try again. However on the Amazon Quick side the “pending verification” error never clears out. It does not auto retry, and even a day later the user flow is wedged. So I had to cancel the transaction and try again. Same thing happened. I did it a third time with the bank on the phone so they could see the error Amazon Quick is throwing and they were very confused but again unable to “pre-authorize” or allow the transaction to proceed. I ended up having to use a MasterCard. A few days later I helped someone else who hit the exact same scenario and their bank said the weird error is coming from the VISA network which is why the bank can’t clear it or prevent it in anyway. That person too had to use a mastercard.
That’s all the information I have for you. I hope you fix this because it’s a great product.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this detailed information. That’s incredibly helpful and I really appreciate it.
It looks like there may be a compatibility issue between the VISA network’s verification process and the Amazon Quick purchasing flow.
Since this is a community portal, we don’t have access to private account details or purchasing logs to dig further into this. I would kindly request that you share these details and escalate your AWS Support ticket so that the team can dive into the specifics with the logs and work toward a resolution.
Aaand now we come full circle. There are no humans to escalate to. Are you sure you are not a bot? You are a bit repetitive.
Hi @Dana_McLaughlin,
I understand the scenario you’ve encountered may be a bit frustrating, however please keep in mind that the Community is a public-facing forum, not an extension of AWS’s customer support system. Being that, many of the other users on this forum are simply fellow Quick Sight users, much like you or I, and are just trying to help others learn or expand their current knowledge base.
We do not have the ability (or access) to assist with a more direct private account scenario; like an issue with payments, nor do we have a direct line to the customer support team. For instances that fall in to that basket, unfortunately we have to point in the direction of customer support.
Please assist in keeping the Community a friendly and welcoming forum by being respectful to users’ trying to assist, thank you!
Thanks Brett, I certainly don’t expect you or anyone here to solve this problem, and it’s really sus how you both keep repeating the exact same verbiage word-for-word. What you don’t seem to comprehend is that I went to AWS customer support twice and THEY refuse to help. THEY insist that this community is the place to get help which is ironic because as you both already stated it’s not possible to solve this problem here. You misunderstand, I’m not frustrated, I’m just trying to help the next person who comes along and searches for keywords: credit card validation, subscription upgrade
Have a great day!
