Quicksight drilldown doesnt reset automatically when publishing analysis

Hi Team, I have a QS dashboard with alot of drilldowns.. sometimes after working on / updating analysis I forget to manually reset the expanded drilldowns back before publishing..
Is there a way that before I publish no filter is set on the analysis?
I want to ensure that when users first access the published dashboard, they see the default unfiltered view rather than any filters that were applied during my development and testing work.

Hello Avani,

As far as i know, i don’t think there is an automatic way.
The published dashboard will usually take the state of how it was published with settings in analysis.

you may need to revert to all the default filters or desired filters in analysis and then publish it.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Deep

Hi @avanni,
To add on to what Deep mentioned; something that could help with your scenario would be to enable ad-hoc filtering when publishing (listed under ‘More Settings’:

This will give your users the option to view/edit/remove the filter you may have left in place from drill downs.

I’m also experiencing an unexpected issue where pivot tables and drilldown elements are expanding on their own in the dashboard.
This automatic expansion is happening without any manual intervention, changes, or new deployments.
I’m trying to understand the root cause of this spontaneous behavior. Any idea on why this happens? If I need to make a setting change?

Observation: After making sure the drilldowns are not expanded in the analysis and then is published on the dashboard, there are scheduled data refresh that happens every morning after which we the the drilldowns expanded automatically on dashboard .Any thoughts on how to fix this? After the datarefresh the drilldowns should not be expanded.
