Scheduled Email stopped working without any Human touch

The thing is I set two schedules for one dash which will send daily email to the email address, both of them will work for around one week but one of them will stop working suddenly without changing anything. Then, I reset the schedule for the failed one, it works again. it’s like the email would keep repeating and suddenly stop sending. It caused me feel so weird… Need help, thanks!

Hello @Mozzie, that definitely sounds a little confusing. I am curious, are the datasets linked to your dashboard stored in SPICE and set to a scheduled refresh? I am wondering if the email that consistently fails is somehow running at the same time as a dataset refresh and if that is causing it to fail.

Hey Dylan, thank you for response! Yes, the linked dataset stored in SPICE and we set three daily refresh schedules, one is 07:05 AM PST, one is 18.59 PM PST, one is 16:00 PM PST. The two scheduled emails were set at 6:30 AM PST and 7:00 PM PST. The one always failed is 7:00 PM PST. I checked there is no failed refresh history for this dataset and the running time for this dataset is around 20 - 40 seconds. Will this cause it to fail?

Hello @Mozzie, it might be worth testing this after changing either the 6:59PM dataset refresh or the 7PM email schedule. Even if the dataset refresh doesn’t fail, I think it would be good to add more time between them to see if that fixes the issue. Maybe wait to send the email until 7:30PM. If the email still fails then we know the problem isn’t linked to the refresh schedule.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll try to test. If this option failed, Can I still seek guidance under this question tab?

Hello @Mozzie, that is totally fine! I will mark my suggestion as the solution for now, but please let me know if it doesn’t work and we will find another way to resolve this. Thank you!

Maybe one more confirmation, If I change the refresh time to 6:30 PM PST, the 7:00 PM’s email, will record the data for the day at 6:30 PM PST right?

Hello @Mozzie, yes that should be the expected functionality.
